The Environment Agency report that they were overwhelmed by the response, which saw over 29,000 anglers and 780 angling organisations reply – making it one of the largest ever surveys of anglers.

As well as giving views on various issues affecting angling, as previously reported on FM, all respondents have also helped with the creation of a national angling strategy – Fishing for Life – which was launched at the Angling Summit on 13 November 2012 by the Fisheries Minister, Richard Benyon.
