Popping through all rod licence holder’s letterboxes in the next week or two will be a letter from the EA explaining how you can now buy your new rod licence for 2002 by direct debit.

This is how it works:

Each year the EA will send you a new licence, by post, in the last week in March. It will be valid from Midnight on 31st March.

Ten days before your debit is due the EA write to you to confirm the amount of the fee, the details of your bank account and the date of payment. So, if you’ve changed your mind about the arrangement, or have decided not to renew your licence, you’ll have plenty of time to cancel.

To benefit from the Direct Debit arrangement the EA must receive your completed form no later than 10th February 2002.

The offer applies only to full and concessionary licence fees, not to 1 or 8-day licences.
