PENROSE AJUSTA-BLOX
Price: £ 14.99

We get used to seeing loads of scaffolding on seatboxes, especially those continental type boxes that pole anglers love. There’s a clamp, bracket, extension bar or other wonderful gizmo for every accessory and every occasion. And great they are too, I wouldn’t be without any of mine.

Can be adjusted to all angles
Yet there is so little for the pleasure and specialist angler who uses a chair or bedchair. Fair enough, there isn’t anywhere near as much demand for such accessories, but where there is demand you’re lucky to find anything. There have been so many times when fishing on platforms or on hard ground when a piece of scaffolding would have saved the day, if only to support a brolly.

There are other advantages to these chair accessories too, for they make the bankstick so much more adjustable so that you can find the absolute perfect position, which is not so easy when you have to keep sticking the bankstick in the ground until you find the right angle.

The one you can see on my chair is being used to support a rear bankstick when barbel or chub fishing on the river. I can set it so that when sitting relaxed the butt of the rod falls perfectly to hand.

The Ajusta-Blox has been designed to fit all chairs and bedchairs of either round or square section frame up to an inch across. It also fits any of the leg systems fitted to any seatbox, platform or footplate on the market.

Fits all sizes of bankstick and brolly poles
The Ajusta-Blox will accommodate all bankstick sizes and brolly poles.

Available from most tackle shops.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

There are some anglers around who will catch more fish if they treat themselves to an Ajusta-Blox. How? They won’t have to hammer their banksticks into hard ground and scare every fish away for miles around! Yes, there are plenty who do just that and then wonder why they don’t get a bite.

The Ajusta-Blox is an excellent piece of kit that has found a permanent place on my fishing chair. Perhaps the block itself could have been made from a light alloy to save a little weight for the roving angler, which would of course have pushed the price up.

Maybe a Mark 2 version could be brought out for those of us who would be willing to pay more for the lightweight option.

A good idea, strong, and well made. Comes in good packaging and with very clear instructions for fitting it to your chair or bedchair. With only a little imagination you will find it has many applications.
