Pike – The freshwater Shark

A brand new series starts on Discovery Home & Leisure on 25th April called ‘Predators’. The presenter, Kevin Green, meets with a different predatory fish expert each episode and learns how the predator in question preys on its feed, thereby learning the best way to catch it and become the predator yourself!

The series features great underwater camera-work, showing the predators in action, as well as all the facts you need on each fish and advice on which bait and methods to catch it.

From catching the deadly deep water Blue Shark off West Ireland to capturing the brutal Zander from a boat in the Severn, this series features gruesome underwater shots and astounding record catch footage. Watch as the majestic shark emerges from the gloom of the deep into the full view of the underwater camera and seizes Kevins’s whole mackerel bait! Viewers see the vicious predator fight to escape a few inches from the camera, leaving no doubt as to its magnificent power and grace.

Kevin says, “This is a series that explores the hunting instincts of Britain’s most predatory fish. Guided by experts who have dedicated their angling lives to the pursuit of fish-eating species, the viewer is provided with a unique insight into the underwater world where predators and prey are embroiled in a 24-hour fight for survival. Using this key information I was lead on a remarkable journey of anglingexploration and learned the necessary skills to use the blood thirsty tendencies of a predatory species against it. Only by understanding how a fish kills can you ensure the predator becomes the prey.”
