As you can see, the baits are designed by our regular writer and bankside chef (famed for his ‘Cooking on the Bank’ series), Scott Ratcliffe. I’ve concentrated on the pop-ups because those are the ones he has so far sent to me and please bear in mind, this is just a preview since my carping won’t get under way until the spring.

The smells are great and I’m sure he said that some contain spirits, which is pretty unique if so. The other thing about these is the size, now I’ve seen and bought pop-ups down to 12mm, but rarely do you see them any smaller, I haven’t, ever!

These Carp Balls go down to just 4mm although you really do have to be very careful with the baiting needle. It means that you can build the snowman rig properly rather than having to use scissors to cut away larger pop-ups down to size.

However, if this means using the smaller 4mm and 6mm ones and one tip I’d read might be useful here. Instead of using a normal boilie stop, because they’re quite big and bulky, try a small length of 18-22lbs fluorocarbon line or even the old stiff clear Amnesia.

Of course, you can use them just on their own and don’t stop at carp, why not tench and bream? There will be others to follow; wafters designed to just lift the hook whilst leaving the point on the deck; sinkers in true fluorescent colours, something most bulk manufacturers can’t seem to produce. Also to follow are Ziggers for Zig-rigs, Dumbells in the usual pop-up, wafter, and sinker styes; and what about Stub-ends? Just rounder disks to go on the end of a pellet or dumbbell.

Dare I mention the other one? The Bo**ocks! Two boilies fused together, but I’m still working out how you hair rig them!!!

There’s all sort of other products in the pipeline such as black boilies.

Why not visit the site and have a browse through his present offerings. I can’t wait to have a go with these!
