Newly recruited Daiwa tackle consultant, Steve Ringer, pulled out all the stops to gain a superb silver medal in the new World Feeder Championships, fished on the River Tevere in Italy.

 
Steve finished 2nd in section on day 1, with a creditable 6.555kg, in the searing heat on a dead calm river but in the same conditions on day 2, the multi talented match star pulled out all the stops to win his section, with 6.831kg giving him a two day total of 3 points and an overall weight of 13.388kg.

Star man over the two days however was Ukranian 20 year old, Oleskii Strashnyi, whose two section wins for a total of 19.825, gave him the world title and the gold medal.

 

The final placings were as follows:

1st Oleskii Strashnyi, Ukraine, 2 points, 19.825kg total

2nd Steve Ringer, England, 3 points, 13.388kg total

3rd Oleg Boiev, Ukraine, 4 points , 10.795 total

4th Roberto Rodriguez Moran, Spain, 5 points, 11.477kg total
