On the 16th June we are holding a two phased event.

In the Morning we are meeting outside the Old Mill in Bexley village at 9am-ish and from there we intend to Rove the Cray through to Crayford.

We’ll do a litter pick on route and take a few turns each in a swim. There’s some quality chub and a few biggies, plenty of dace and some nice bream and perch.

in the evening, 5pm to 9pm, we will settle down on the last freshwater section of the Cray before it becomes a dual carriageway.

this section contains roach to 2lb 12oz-plus, very nice perch, bream, pike, roach/bream hybrids and rudd with the odd koi and ghost.

I hope that a few volunteers will bring BBQ’s, and enjoy a nice evening taking in the wildlife and landing a few nice fish too.

This event, apart from seeing in our second year and first day of the river season, is to bring about a greater awareness of the Cray and its wildlife habitats, the problems it had and the few we are working on.

We hope to use this event to raise much needed funds towards our insurance fees, as without this we cannot continue our clean ups, public awareness activities, pay for skips, extra chest waders, etc.

so if you want to take a nice stroll, have a fish or blagg a day off work, give me a call on: 07968 805 751 or email me: ashehurst@fsmail.net.
