HORTON CHURCH LAKE

Horton Church Lake, ‘home’ of the British Grass Carp Record, hasdone it again with Colin ‘Gaylord’ Nash adding almost 3lb to the oldrecord of 33lb 12oz caught by Simon Lavin from the same fishery backin 1999.

Colin presented a Carp Company Icelandic red boilie from theScooter swim to take the fish which was weighed in at 36lb 9oz at alittle before 10 O’clock yesterday evening.

RMC Angling Bream Record Falls

Shortly after the capture of the potential new British recordGrass carp the RMC Angling bream record was also broken withJim Shelley taking a specimen of 15lb 5oz. More news on this fishwhen we have it.

YATELEY PADS LAKE

Frank Cunningham – 29lb 6oz

Frank Cunningham was one of the first to get on the Pads Lake whenit opened on the first of June and was rewarded with thispreviously-uncaught cracker of 29lb 6oz, the third largest so farcaught from the venue. Frank’s carp is the biggest to date of theFishers Pond strain of carp and the third largest netted so farbehind different specimens of 32lb to Ray Varndell and 31lb 4oz toKevin Green.

Frank took his fish in a 24 hour session from the noted PolePosition swim on a bait fished to the side of the main pads.

HORTON BOAT POOL

9lb 12oz

Following on from the capture of a 10lb Horton Boat Pool tench ona Black Squid boilie by Phil Crabtree; Wallington based Tom ‘Shaw’James has just taken a different fish of 9lb 12oz.

The big tench came during a two night session on the water and waspart of a catch which also included a catfish of 27lb and a grasscarp of 15lb 8oz. The Black Squid is currently dominating catches onthe fishery which remains in good form for big fish of a variety ofspecies.

All Tom’s fish fell to Carp Company’s powerful new Black Squidboilies containing The Aminol, GLM, Anchovy Plus and Amino/Betaine.Tom offered a single 16mm pop-up on size 8 Anti-eject Carp Co hook, aeight-inch, 12lb nylon hooklink, a semi-fixed 2oz Digger lead andGR500 Braided mainline.

All the fish were taken at short range where Tom introduced 2kilos of 14mm freebies along with a kilo of 20mm Ball Pellet.

CRAYFISH POOL

Gary Harrow – ‘The Leathery’

This is the first photograph of Gary Harrow with the Crayfish Poolcarp known as The Leathery.

Gary landed the fish at a weight of 33lb 3oz on a Solar Fish Force5 boilie. It follows on from his captures last season of Scar at 40lb12oz, The Long Fish at 35lb 2oz and Lumpy at 30lb 4oz.

An excellent result for Gary in less than a year on the 2 acrelake on the Kingsmead Complex.
