Kevin and his Relief Channel 30-pounder

Surrey’s Kevin O’Farrell is widely regarded as one of the quiet’giants’ of the all-round specimen angling scene. One time captor ofthat great Wraysbury carp Mary he has fished for many differentspecies but has concentrated mostly upon salmon in recent years. However, the lure of Fishers Green with the large size of so manydifferent species and the mystery that still surrounds parts of thecomplex proved irresistible and Kevin made his first visit to thefishery recently.

The result of Kev’s first outing was this magnificent and uniquelyscaled mirror carp of 30lb 6oz that fell for a boilie popped up overa bed of hemp in the Relief Channel.

Brian Eades and his 32lb 14oz common

Godalming angler Brian Eades enjoyed a superb day session on Pit 3at Frimley recently culminating in the capture of this magnificentnew personal best common of 32lb 14oz.

The common was caught on a Contour Baits cardinal spice boiliefished over a bed of hemp and maize. Brian has caught bream to 11lb5oz together with the odd carp throughout the summer and kept theparticles going in, eventually the carp started to push the bream outand this fish was part of the result.

Fully Scaled Mirror

And a fully scaled mirror

In addition to the common carp the same session also produced a20lb 3oz fully scaled mirror, this fish also falling for a cardinalspice boilie fished with a stringer over a bed of hemp and maize.

Frimley remains in excellent form for the carp and should continueto produce well right through to November but specialist anglersshould note that a number of big bream and tench are also showingwith double figure specimens of both species a distinctpossibility.
