Big isn’t always beautiful and our mini species also have a vital role to play in the overall ecology of our aquatic systems – but the smaller species appear to be in decline.

This ambitious project, supported by a grant from National Geographic, is headed by wildlife photographer and natural historian, Jack Perks and aims to look at a number of our mini species including: 10-spined stickleback, minnow, bullhead, stone loach, ruffe and bleak. Are these species all in decline? If so, why? And what can be done to protect them?

If you would like to participate then complete the survey HERE and check out the Mini Fish Study Facebook page for further information.
