The Whitney Court beats hold pike which receive only moderate attention from anglers. During the period Oct 1st 2015 – February 28th February 2016 we intend to promote the pike fishing here in order to enhance our understanding of the species’ distribution. There would be a trophy for each of the heaviest specimens caught on conventional tackle and on the fly. Sportfish of Winforton have very kindly pledged their support and will donate Sportfish gift tokens to the captor of the best specimen. There will be prizes of complimentary salmon and trout fishing on the Whitney Court Estate.

The competition will be open to any Whitney Court angler with a coarse fishing permit obtained through the Wye & Usk Foundation and, of course, an EA licence. Tickets are £22.00 inc. admin fee. 1 rod only.

We will be looking for reliable, accurate feedback from anglers, with photographic evidence and witness verification sent to cliff@wheretofish.co.uk. All ‘takes’ on sea-baits or on live/dead-baits taken from the Whitney stretch ONLY must be struck straight away and the pike unhooked with due care before safe return to the river. Standard EA and WUF rules will apply.
