The TAC is a free-to-join voluntary organisation established at the beginning of 2010 and run by Anglers with the aim of helping in the conservation of the River Thames. The match is the second to be staged and after the 2010 event – which saw perch to 3lb 11oz netted – it promises to be another cracker and to draw a number of anglers – including a few well-known ‘names’. Hopefully the event will also raise much needed funds for the organisation and turn up a few cracking Thames fish.

All are welcome to participate whether fishing or not, junior or senior, skilled or novice and you are welcome to fish any method or style.

Entrance to the event is £5.00 meeting at Cinos Cafe under Walton Bridge and fishing from the Anglers pub up to and including the Desborough Cut. The event is not pegged and there will be a draw to walk off and you can fish where you like. The car park is located below Walton Bridge, Walton Lane, off the A244.

The draw is at 5.30pm for both matches to fish:
One rod – 7pm until midnight
Two rods – 7pm until 7am

A number of annual trophies are up for grabs including:

David Bird Trophy: Best specimen (as a % of the UK record) in the 7pm to midnight event.

The Keith Arthur Cup: Best overall weight in the 7pm to midnight event.

TAC Junior Cup: Best overall weight in the 7pm to midnight event.

Lunar Shield: Best specimen (as a % of the UK record) in the 7pm to 7am event.

The Lock-keepers Cup: Best overall weight in the 7pm to 7am event.

The Les Webber Angling Projects: Junior best overall weight 7pm to 7am event.

Esher Angling: Junior best specimen (as a % of the UK record) 7pm to 7am event.
