South London angler Jason Gilbert fished the Sutton at Hone Syndicate this season and caught no less than 15 carp from this tricky water. Included in Jason’s haul were The Beast at 31lb 7oz. and The Brown Fish at 33lb 8oz.

Sutton has a track record for producing the odd good fish throughout the winter months and having spawned heavily early in the season the Sutton heavyweights should soon be starting to reach the peak of their condition for the year.

The fishing on RMC Angling’s Horton Church Lake has been very slow going for the past fortnight, but despite the rain and the steadily falling water temperatures the odd big fish has picked up a bait including the rarely caught Black Tail.

The fish is pictured here with captor Keith James. Keith, one of the few remaining members of the ‘original’ Horton Church Lake syndicate, landed the fish at a new top weight of 34lb 6oz.

A number of the big Horton fish continue to avoid capture including most notably Shoulders, Scaley and the Thorpe Park Common.

With Horton having a reputation as a rock hard winter water it could well be March before there is a chance of seeing any of these fish on the bank this season. The latest fish to come out of the Car Park lake at Nutrabaits Yateley made a new top weight of 42lb 6oz. The fish was Chunky, pictured here with her captor John Claridge of Arlingham, Gloucester.

The Big Orange still remains the one Car Park Lake carp yet to see the bank this season.
