THE CHUB KENNET CHAIR
Price: £ 109.99

A full monty bedchair is just too much most of the time to carry when you’re fishing only a short session. Too heavy and OTT, particularly when you have to walk some considerable distance to get to your swim.

A chair is okay, but how you wish you’d got that bedchair once you’re set up and can relax for a few hours. Lying in the sun, getting a tan and reading Hello magazine. Or something like that.

Which is exactly where a reclining chair fills the gap. Not a full bedchair but much more than a chair, the recliner is significantly lighter than a bedchair and much more comfortable than a chair.

And this one from innovative company Chub is well worth a look from the range on offer. It is very well made, fully adjustable and high-backed. The perimeter is well padded and sprung with shock-cord elastics.

Unique locking mechanism, mudfeet and leg locking system
But what makes it special are the locking legs, the unique twist lock leg extension and the revolutionary short twist reclining mechanism.

The locking leg system means that the chair is safe from collapsing on you and possibly trapping your fingers. What’s more, the legs also lock in the closed position which makes it so much easier to carry.

Best of all is the short twist reclining mechanism that involves just a quarter turn of the knob to release the back, and a quarter turn to lock it once you’ve chosen the reclining position you prefer.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

I’ve have to say that this is my favourite reclining chair. The locking legs and quick adjustment of the reclining mechanism make it so easy to use. Not only that, it is very comfortable.

The only complaint I have is that the feet are too small, although this is soon remedied by purchasing the optional extra Mudfeet for £ 12.69.
