Temple 30’s just keep coming!

Regular Paul Pitchley landed ‘The Ghost’ at 30lb 1oz as part of a three fish haul from Temple on Sunday afternoon.

Following a downturn in the weather towards the end of last week, Paul was undecided where to set up for his 4 day session on Temple which started Thursday evening, eventually choosing deep water peg 10.

With just one fish to show for his efforts by Saturday, a pretty 22lb 7oz mirror which fell to a single Fusion bait fished out to the monk, and moreover with his father Brian, who was fishing a two day session bagging a very fit 26lb 11oz mirror from shallow water peg 15, Paul decided to move to the other end of the lake slotting in next to Brian on peg 14.

From the off the signs were good as Paul landed a very pretty big Scaled mirror weighing 27lb 14oz on Saturday night which was taken from between the islands on a double 14mm Icelandic Red fished in conjunction with a PVA bag and broken boilies and pellet.

Fishing a single Fusion boilie also with a PVA bag and bait towards the island off peg 13, Paul struck into ‘The Ghost’ on Sunday afternoon, taking a good 20 minutes to land the immaculate fish following a very strong fight.

‘The Ghost’, which carries tag number 143031, was stocked on the 20/11/2003 weighing 23lb 9oz and was first caught by Keith Pepper at 30lb 6oz back in November. Owner David de Vere says ,”at 30lb 1oz this is certainly ‘The Ghost’s’ bottom winter weight and we look forward to another year of exceptional growth for this very pretty fish.”
