Shimano Consultant, Nick Hellieur is on the water to do a feature for Improve Your Coarse Fishing and so far has caught carp to 18.02. It’s never easy to catch fish to order! Despite the bitterly cold N/E wind both Ian Poole and Nick Helliuer are finding feeding fish. So far Nick has caught six mirrors – three low twenties, two upper doubles and a thirty. At 31.01 the big mirror is another new thirty for the water. Ian has managed two weighing 16.12 and 24.12. Both are using Richworth Bio-Plex boilies on the hook along with small PVA bags containing pellets and crushed boilies and casting these approximately 40 yards to a drop off.

Kevin Barber from Portershead, also making his first visit to our site, spotted the carp bubbling and clouding up the water very close to the bank. A single Richworth boilie fished just three rod lengths out produced a PB for Kevin in the way of a 30.15 mirror – good fishing Kevin!
