Ben Miles and his fishing mate Darren Underwood, both from Peterborough, fished particles over spodded pellets. Darren caught mirrors of 24.12 and 21.12 and Ben caught a 25.12.

The cold winds put the fish down and only a few doubles were reported last week. The recent change in the weather should see an improvement in sport.

Nearly 40 double-figure, fast growing mirror carp have been introduced to the water over the last couple of weeks.

YEOMANS LAKE
Nick Bull reports catching mirrors of 23.08 and 16.14.

HARDWICK LAKE
Kerry Knight from Stoke on Trent fished with Premier Boilies to catch a mirror of 25.08.

Ron Buss managed a couple of nice doubles on his last trip to the water but there was a bonus in the way of a 2.15 roach that picked up his carp bait.

News has come in of a pike that bottomed 30lb scales – we hope to have more details of this later.

Bristol’s Ian Jefferies fished with a single boilie to catch ‘Cut Tail’ the mirror at 39.08.

Daren Henning an Installation Supervisor from Derbyshire has been travelling around the country trying to catch his first British thirty-pound carp. On his first visit to Linear he did this in great style with a superb mirror carp of 35.08 which beat his previous PB by 6lb.Darren, who is over the moon with his capture, used Nash Formulae 1 hookbait along with a PVA bag filled with pellet and crushed boilie – fished over twenty freebees at 40 yards range.
