Overview

The first half of my thirty year flyfishing life was spent accumulating flies and tackle the better to be prepared for any set of fishing conditions in which I found myself. The latter half of my flyfishing life has been spent confidently reducing the amount of tackle that I carry with me, and for much of 2007 I wore everything I felt I needed on a fishing trip on a home-made lanyard strung around my neck.

But when I saw the Outrange Chest Pouch I knew I had finally found what I was really looking for. Snips, floatant, drying patch, sinkant, and a bit of rubber for straightening coiled monofilament are all hung from the clips. I’ve a zinger for my forceps pinned on the back.

The front pocket is fine for several thin spools of tippet/leader material, and a pouch on its back side can accommodate tapered leaders and your fishing licence.

The main bag accommodates the single fly box, or two small system boxes, that will carry everything I need for waters that I know. It hangs around your neck and costs about £ 20 to buy.

Verdict

When I saw the Outrange Chest Pouch I knew I had finally found what I was really looking for. It’s a great product!
