Specific Applications

Feeder Fishing and Link Fishing

When Feeder and Link fishing anglers need a good sinking line, strong and robust, but also with a low diameter that can cope with snags and rocky bottoms. It is also essential that the angler is in direct contact with the fish to register sensitive bites.

POWER PLUS is the choice for feeder fishing as it has low stretch, a good knot strength and it’s tough enough to withstand any conditions likely to be encountered.

For the heavy feeder a 5lb POWER PLUS main line to a recommended with hook length of Ultima XT7 or POWER PLUS direct to your hook on Chub and Barbel waters is also very effective.

Stick Float Fishing

Choosing the correct line for Stick Float Fishing can be difficult. Let’s take the Warwickshire Avon as an example, as there are lots of rivers around the country that flow at the same pace of the Avon. A small to medium size stick float for inside fishing is used so we need a main reel line such as POWER PLUS, which has been tried and tested by a wide variety of stick float angler. POWER PLUS is a most remarkable line for this purpose.

The great benefit of such a line is that it sinks about 3 inches below the surface of the water, so as to hold the float back slightly and more naturally to present your hook bait and loose feed with the natural flow of the river.

Major Website Updates from Ultima

Ultima has completed major overhauls of both their websites to coincide with the launch of their 2007 catalogue and product range.The main site, www.ultimauk.com, gives full details of all of the product range as before, but now also has an active news section for company, match, carp and sea news.

The most popular section of the sites in recent years have been the knot and line care sections. These have been expanded and now also include a detailed description of how to tie a Bimini Twist.

There is a fully functional dealer locator section so consumers can easily find their nearest Ultima dealers and also an ‘on-line dealer’ section.

There is a new press section which offers a photo gallery and copies of all recent press releases and a dealer section which offer catalogue and dealer information about opening an account. These two sections are password protected and passwords can be obtained from Ultima if you qualify.
