The river
The rivers opened to coarse anglers this week

Win a Rod for Catch of the Week!

THE GLORIOUS 16th, yes, the 16th June, that magical time of year when the rivers open to coarse fishing for another season; miles of glorious river that have been left unfished for the past three months. And although there is no longer an official closed season on stillwaters there are some fisheries, and some anglers, that still follow the old tradition, so they too will be able to fish again.

FishingMagic would like to wish you all the very best of luck for the new season with everyone catching the fish of their dreams, or at least we hope you don’t have a nightmare!

Of course, the opening of the new season doesn’t always live up to expectations, especially when the rivers run low and clear, but if you do have a red letter day between now and next Sunday, 25th June, let us know about it in a report of up to 200 words, and preferably with a picture or two.

The best catch reports will be published as we receive them and at the end of the week we will decide who has caught the fish of the week. As well as the species and the weight of the fish, the county where you caught it from will also be taken into consideration.

If your report and picture of your catch is chosen as fish of the week we’ll send you a brand new Lineaeffe Hi-Tech Feeder Rod worth about £ 55.00.

Also, the winner and two runners-up will receive a FishingMagic cap and tee-shirt.

This competition isn’t just for river fish, it’s for all coarse fish, including those from stillwaters.

Send those catch reports and photographs to editor@fishingmagic.com and see if you can bag this very nice feeder rod! Details of it can be seen here: TackleTek Ltd.

Please include your full name and address in your catch report.

Good Luck!
