FOX LEADS & BITS BAG
Price: £ 8.95

Over the last couple of seasons I’ve seen the light when it comes to the advantages of staying mobile. Itchy feet call for minimal tackle, so I’m always looking for ways of reducing the payload.

Fox’s Leads & Bits Bag is just the job. It swallows up a pair of the small system boxes for spare beads, swivels, sinkers etc; with room left over for leads, poppers, polyball floats, trace wire, uptraces, braid and trace blades and one or two other odds and ends.

With room for all this lot, it does away with the need to cart a tackle box around, meaning all I need is a plastic tube for a few extra floats and a rig bin and I’m away.

The bag itself is well-made of water-resistant fabric, with a substantial zip. Storage space can be tweaked by moving around the two internal dividers, secured by velcro tabs, which come with it. With a bit of jiggery pokery it’ll just as easily accommodate a couple of bits boxes, mobile phone and compact or digi camera, for example.

The bag easily slips into an outside pocket of the trout angler’s shoulder bag which currently houses just about everything I need. It’ll also fit the inside pocket of a Barbour – meaning river rovers could well find it just the job for chub and barbel sessions.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT:

Although designed to carry the array of leads today’s carpers carry, the bag is just the job for river rovers and ants-in-your-pants pikers.

Strong and durable, good value for £ 8.95.
