Carp angler Tom Huntley fished a secret 29 acre Norfolk gravel pit and had the shock of his life when he landed a bream from the margins that could become the new British record for the species at 18lb 15oz.

Only a few short weeks ago the record was broken by another carp angler, Kerry Walker, when he netted a record bream of 18lb 7oz on two grains of corn, also from the margins, and also from a Norfolk gravel pit – the Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association pit, 29 acre Lodge Lake on the Bawburgh complex.

FISHINGmagic believes the two fish came from the same water and could even be the same fish.

The fish was taken on boilie over trout pellet.

Take a look at the fish and read the full story in this weeks Angling Times. It’s a great looking specimen and good to see that a carp angler has appreciated what he’s caught.

But not half as much as bream angler would have appreciated it.
