A two-night session at RMC Angling’s Horton Boat Pool producedthis stunning 10lb tench along with one of 7lb for Phil Crabtree.

A double for Mr Crabtree

Both tench fell for Carp Company’s new Black Squid with TheAminol, GLM, Anchovy Plus and Amino/Betaine. Phil fished a single14mm pop-up on size 8 Super Strong Carp Co hook, a eight-inch, 15lbnylon hooklink, a semi-fixed 3oz Digger lead and 10lb GR60 mainline.

Phil introduced 200 14mm freebies and fished at short range.

A number of very big tench have been spotted in the Boat Pool overthe past few seasons but this is the first to reach the magical 10lbmark.

TOM’S CAT

The catfish fell to Tom James after only two hours into his firstsession on the water, and the fish is the first catfish that Tom hasever caught. The big cat fell for Carp Company’s powerful new BlackSquid with The Aminol, GLM, Anchovy Plus and Amino/Betaine. Tomoffered a single 16mm pop-up on size 8 Anti-eject Carp Co hook, aeight-inch, 15lb nylon hooklink, a semi-fixed 3oz Digger lead and15lb GR500 Braided mainline.

And a cat for Tom

The fish was taken at medium range where Tom introduced 2 kilos of14mm freebies along with a kilo of 20mm Ball Pellet. Tom’s fishingpartner Phil “Steve McQueen” Crabtree also hooked a big catfishduring the same session that was estimated at 35lb+ before it madethe bid for freedom backwards out of the net.

Cats, Carp and Tench
The giant cat follows hot on the heels of a different specimen of42lb and the Boat Pool has also turned up carp to 28lb and tench to10lb in a hectic start to the season.
