It’s Spring, so it must be time for a Fishingmagic get-together. Yes folks I’m organising the KC Memorial Trophy once again – FISHINGmagic’s annual memorial match at Clattercote reservoir, where we all fight it out for one the most handsome trophies in fishing.

The KC Memorial Trophy. Who’s going to win it this year?
This is one of the best days of the year, an opportunity to scoff a big breakfast in the morning, go fishing with your mates and then have a few beers and a laugh while we present the prizes. All followed by a trip to the local Indian restaurant for those with not too far to travel.

As usual we will be holding the event at Clattercote reservoir, near Banbury, Oxfordshire, just off the M40 Motorway.

This is a very prolific water that is very well run by British Waterways. This year we have decided to do away with the float only rule of the last two years, so it’s any method for this year’s match, providing it’s within the Fishery rules. This may well mean that someone will break our match record weight which was set by last year’s winner on the waggler, Graham, at 32lb. Winner of the 2001 match was Coarse Fisherman editor Stu Dexter.

If you’ve never match fished before don’t let that put you off, the day is very informal and is more about having a good time – ask Wendy!

The provisional date for the event will be Saturday, 19th April. I know it’s Easter weekend but with most people having Friday and Monday off, sneaking away on Saturday for a spot of fishing shouldn’t cause too many problems, should it?

And don’t forget, pegs are limited to 30 max, so as usual it’s going to be a case of first come, first served. The peg fee is £ 5.00 and there will be optional pools on the day.

If you want to fish add your name to the thread below.
