RIVER LEE
With the River Lee up and coloured like it has not been for a very, very long time the Fishers Green barbel are in feeding mode big time and four different double figure specimens have been reported from the RMC Angling fishery in the past 48 hours.

Top of the pile so far are fish of 11lb 5oz taken by Gary Newlands on flavoured meat and one of 11lb 8oz to Bob Hornegold on a DT Developments barbel paste.

FIRST 30
Wharf Pool, the 6 acre Special venue on RMC Angling’s Stanford Le Hope Complex, has just produced its first fully authenticated 30lb carp in the shape of a superb common of 31lb to Martin Hammond.

Martin fished a day session at the fishery and presented a Mainline Diamond White bait in a clear spot at 50 metres in a PVA bag containing trout pellets and broken boilies.

After connecting with a 16lb common at 1pm Martin went on to land the big common after a good scrap at 1:45pm. Just ten minutes later the same rod roared off again and he landed a mirror of 23lb to complete an excellent hat trick of carp.

Martin presented his bait on a size 6 Fox series 2 barbless hook to 6 inches of 15lb SuperNova braid. Mainline was 15lb Sufix Synergy.

SANDHURST LAKE
Sandhurst Lake on the Nutrabaits Yateley Complex has just received a top up of its carp stocks in the shape of ten superb double figure mirrors from 10lb to 15lb spawned and reared at the hatchery of Sparsholt College, Hampshire.

The 12 acre Sandhurst lake on the east side of the Nutrabaits Yateley Complex is rapidly gaining a reputation as a fine carp fishery with a number of fish now topping the 20lb mark and the first specimen reaching 30lb earlier this season.

In addition to these larger fish the 1998 stocking of 150 Fishers Pond carp averaging 3lb are thriving and many are already over 15lb and growing fast.
