Mick Brown is one of the country’s most knowledgeable pike anglers and the Carp Society are offering the chance to spend a weekend on Horseshoe Lake in the company of the great man.

Although perhaps better known as a carp and tench fishery Horseshoe holds a huge number of double figure pike, with the best recent capture a fish of 28lb, so there’s a realistic chance of connecting with a 30lb fish.

Anglers booking to fish the event will arrive at Horseshoe at 10.00am on Friday 10 February 2012 and will be greeted and introduced to Mick before having a look around the lake and setting up and starting to fish in the swim of your choice for the weekend.

Mick will be on hand at all times to give advice so whether you are new to pike fishing or an old hand your needs will be catered for. Friday evening will consist of a two course meal in the lodge followed by a talk and slide show by Mick, then it’s back to your swim to fish or just relax until the following morning. A full breakfast will be served in the lodge on Saturday and the rest of the day is spent fishing.

An evening meal is again provided on the Saturday evening with another talk followed by a question and answer session with Mick. Bacon rolls will be delivered to your swim on Sunday morning and you can fish until midday on Sunday when it’s back to the lodge for farewells.

The cost of the weekend is £135 all in. For booking forms or further enquiries contact the Carp Society on 01367 253959 or email info@thecarpsociety.com and anyone lucky enough to land a 30lb Pike will have their payment refunded.
