Given the state of the world economy, the impact of September 11th, market, and the foot and mouth crisis which closed off much of the countryside in the UK last year, you might be forgiven for thinking that to launch a new coarse fishing magazine into an already crowded market in 2001 would be the height of folly. But that is precisely the decision Predator Publications made last September when they decided to go ahead with the publication of the first ever issue of Coarse Angling Today.

It is a decision that looks like paying off and the monthly magazine has already established itself as a source of information for the more experienced and ambitious coarse fish angler. Aimed primarily at anglers fishing for such species as barbel, tench, roach, chub, carp and bream etc, along with some predator fishing.

The company attributes much of the success for the new magazine to the bright full colour modern layout, as well as the right combination of writing anglers.

The company brought a wealth of experience to catering for the more specialized UK market, having for the past five years successfully published Pike & Predators, a monthly publication covering such species as pike, catfish, zander, perch, eels.

Plans are already afoot to increase the pagination of the new magazine from its present 68 pages, and new writers are being recruited.
