Lachlan was presented with the proceeds by several of the S.A.F.E angling instructors from a sponsored 24-hour fish-in held in October 2001.

SAFE presenting Lachlan and his mum with the cheque
for £ 1550
Lachlan’s Mum would like to thank S.A.FE and everyone who sponsored the instructors for their generosity and time. She also informed us that with the £ 1550 the Lachlan Appeal Fund had passed the half way mark. The secretary of S.A.F.E., David Sloane-Bulger, would also like to thank everyone for their overwhelming generosity and support.

We met Lachlan for the first time on the 28 November at the City Water Advisory Management Group’s monthly meeting to present him with a cheque for £ 1550.00.

Lachlan is 3 years old and has been undergoing chemotherapy for some time now and will continue to undergo treatment every month until April 2002. Despite all this he still manages to smile through it all.

I know I speak for everybody when I say it was a privilege to meet this young boy and his parents and made me think “no matter what life throws your way, be happy and enjoy life as best you can”.

Let’s all wish for Santa to help Lachlan and his parents in all the things that they would like to achieve.
