The Angling Trust report that this event was held to assist the members of the National Teams and Competitions Group select teams for the international programme.  Ten youths (aged 17-21) and nine juniors (aged 13- 16) took part in the event which was fished from 11:30 to 15:30 and all fish caught counted, but the anglers were not allowed to use lures, feathers, to spin or free float fish.

On the day the venue did everyone proud and the 19 youngsters landed 192 fish in the four  hours: 8 Bass, 62 Black Bream, 31 Garfish, 59 Mackerel, 1 Scad and 32 Wrasse.

Light and long rigs equipped with hooks in sizes 6- 10 proved to be the telling method.

2. Callum Graham: Peg 10, 1 black bream, 1 garfish, 13 mackerel, 2 wrasse – total length 521cm

3. Ben Harrison: Peg 4, 1 bass, 5 garfish, 2 mackerel, 6 wrasse – total length 492cm
